By the way, EPS means how much money each subscriber gives you on average if you didn’t know.
So if you got 50,000 email subscribers and they’ve all given you a combined $100,000 then your EPS is 2 dollars.
Now, let’s jump into today’s deep dive.
Without disclosing my client or their business –
I’ll just say they sell online education in the aviation niche.
Like others in the space:
They have both airplane products (for airplane pilots).
And they have drone products (drone pilots).
Now, these are 2 different buyer personas.
So while there is some cross-selling between both personas…
Meaning, some drone pilots might become airplane pilots at some point…
There isn’t enough to justify having one welcome sequence in their business.
So, instead, we (me) organized 2 flows based on the two personas.
So when people signed up for a drone lead magnet, I took them through a targeted sequence selling their #1 drone product.
And then when people signed up for an airplane lead magnet, I took them through a targeted sequence selling their #1 airplane product.

The sequence I did with my client is basically that guide, but then I added a few more things to boost conversions more.
I’d highly recommend reading that guide, then coming back to this one so you understand the full picture.
Basically, here’s how it works:
Take your reader through your origin story…
- Use emotional intensity in the story
- Indoctrinating messaging
- Plus, a few more things…

After the story, and in your remaining emails:
1) You build credibility/authority using media inquires
These could be like magazines, press releases, podcasts, or different authority figures you or your client have been involved with.
So, maybe you did something with Tony Robbins or whatever.
Maybe it was a project, or an event you were at and you guys got your picture taken together.
Whatever it is, you’re looking for ways to associate Authority in your audience’s eyes.
Basically, make them think you’re one of, or THE “top dog” in the space.
This increases conformity, and makes them more receptive to offers you make later.
2) Then, use social proof to show how people like them got results too.
Or… how people like them think it’s cool to buy your things too, and how they’ll be in the “cool kids club” if they buy it too.
You’re leveraging the influence principle of social proof here.
3) Then, you go into paradigm shifting emails.
I’ll do another training on these style emails at a later date, but they’re my favorite.
Basically, you’re reshaping how your reader views things…
Getting them to believe what you want them to believe.
As always, before a reader can be sold on your product, they have to be sold on your method first.
More often than not.
Eg. “online courses” are the most cost-effective way to get to my goal.
Or you show them the old way vs. the newer/better way of doing things…
And why this newer and better way (your way) of doing this is the best thing for them now.
Blah blah…
These things can all be used interchangeably.
But the important thing, is the psychology tactics we used.
And how we used a proven system for turning total strangers into buyers on autopilot.
This approach doubled our conversion rates.
In fact, one of these flows was collecting a whopping $10+ per subscriber.
Absolutely crushing!
And it’s now turning new leads into buyers completely on autopilot.
So, what did we learn today?
Segmented welcome sequences can transform your business.
Depending on your offers, and what buyer personas enter your ecosystem, using a segmented lead nurturing sequence like this can drastically boost your conversions.
While they may not double.
They could still go up 50%, or even 30%.
Which can make a huge difference in the economics of your business, and how easily you scale.
